Visit Milwaukee Public Library's historic Chinese Room (enter at Media Room, 1st Floor) to explore Milwaukee's Chinese immigrant history. View special collections materials and personal immigration documents that celebrate the resilience and influence of Chinese immigrants in our local community.

 The exhibit was created in partnership with the Organization of Chinese Americans-Wisconsin Chapter (OCA-WI) A special focus is the significance of two historical markers granted to OCA-WI by the Wisconsin Historical Society commemorating the lives of Chinese immigrants who lived in Milwaukee in the early 1900s.

 The Chinese Room, a former Milwaukee Public Museum collections space, features an intricate floor mosaic. The mosaic depicts a dragon-and-pearl figure,representing benevolent power and wisdom, bordered with dynastic seals.
