Do Androids Dream of Electric Cats is an interactive sculpture by the Steel Tigerlillies, a Milwaukee-based metal arts collective. The mirrored cat invites viewers to see themselves reflected in the work, becoming part of the piece as they move around it. The sculpture explores themes of perception, connection, and the relationships between people, technology, and the world around us. 

Designed and fabricated collaboratively, the sculpture reflects the Steel Tigerlillies’ approach to making art through shared skills, mentorship, and hands-on participation. The collective brings together artists, makers, welders, and volunteers with a wide range of experience to create ambitious public artworks while expanding access to metalworking and creative practice. Their projects emphasize that meaningful public art is built not only through vision, but through many people working together.

On display from October 1 through October 31.
