The Great Lakes Marine Collection has been at the Central Library since 1959 and among other historic information, contains over 12,000 files on vessels that sailed the Great Lakes. Located in the Humanities Room, the collection showcases many primary sources as well as many ship models, including the EDMUND FITZGERALD, paintings by famous artists as well as marine navigational instruments and artifacts.
