In this hands-on demonstration, registrants will explore the basics of safely making pickles with fresh vegetables. Pre-registration is required. Bring a small, sturdy box to take your sample home.
We’ll be using fresh vegetable to explore the basics of making pickles. We’ll review the scientific concepts of food preservation and the practical techniques needed to safely and successfully make your own pickles.
This is a 'hands-on' demonstration! Attendees will have the opportunity to assist in specific tasks!
Attendees should bring a small, sturdy box for carrying home their sample jar.
All attendees will receive the State of Wisconsin-Extension publication Homemade Pickles & Relishes, which includes how-to information and recipes.
Pre-registration required; Attendance is limited to the first 25 registrants.
