Approaching Dying and Death as Part of Life

This four-part program will provide basic information and a framework for adults and older teens interested in learning about end-of-life issues and being able to communicate effectively with family, friends and loved ones to ensure that their wishes are known and carried out. Attendees will be able to define and understand hospice and palliative care and what that entails, be aware of their options regarding funerals and funeral planning and know the basics of creating an obituary, writing a eulogy, and designing an order of service booklet and/or memory board. Registration requested, but not required. 

Session 1: "Difficult conversations and important paperwork" 

 

Session 2: "Hospice. Palliative Care. What are these things and how do they work?" 

 

Session 3: Funeral Planning 101: Choices, costs and logistics" 

 

Session 4: "Obituaries, Eulogies, Programs, Photo Boards: Getting the Last Words & Images right"
