Learn how to install and care for a rain barrel at a rain barrel workshop. Participants will learn about water conservation and the many benefits of using rain barrels.

Come to the Mitchell Street Branch Library to learn about rain garden basics. The workshop will focus on how to design and build a rain garden, how to select plants, and how your rain garden can protect Lake Michigan. At the workshop, garden experts will be on hand to discuss design tips and assist you with creating your rain garden. You can also get a free rain garden plant kit for attending to be picked up in May or June. More information about the free rain garden plant kit will be given at the workshop. Please note that this workshop does NOT include a free rain barrel.
