A presentation about the history of granola, followed by a demonstration and a tasting.
Abolitionists, eugenicists and court fights! Come to the Martin Luther King Library to learn about the colorful history of granola. From its origins as (barely) edible health food to the oat/nut/fruit combo we know today, granola has seen a lot in the 162 years since James Caleb Jackson formulated and began serving (and selling) "granula" from "Our Home Hygenic Institute" in Danville, New York. This program will include taste samples and a demonstration on how to make it at home to suit your original taste preferences. Registration requested.
