Join us to learn some basic preservation techniques to protect your family memories.
Whether in boxes under the bed or in a basement, most of us have family photographs and letters that are important to us. Preserving these precious items can feel like a challenge. In the first half of this workshop, a Milwaukee Public Library archivist will share solutions to common challenges of preservation, specifically for photographs and letters. In the second half of this workshop, a Milwaukee Public Library digital collections librarian will provide steps to help you scan your documents and photos, instruction on how to save these digital files, and some free options that allow you to upload and share your photos online. Participants will receive a preservation starter kit.
