Presented with Historic Milwaukee Inc., people will have the opportunity to see spaces in the beautiful Historic Central Library that are not regularly open to the public.
Saturday: learn about energy and ecological impact of the green roof and solar panels atop Central Library 10am-4pm), view a display of rare books and talk to a librarian about the amazing Rare Books collection (10am-1pm). Sunday, tour the Wisconsin Avenue Rotunda Dome (1pm-4pm) (stairs required). Both days: View the mosaic floor in the Chinese Room (originally the Milwaukee Public Museum's hall for Asian artifacts), the original furniture in the Board Room (early meeting space for the Milwaukee Public Library Board of Trustees), and take the Historic Central Library Self-Guided tour to see the library as it appeared in the past.
