A presentation on the history and current status of granola followed by a tasting.
Abolitionists, eugenics and court fights! Come to the Good Hope Library to learn about the colorful history of granola. From its origins as (barely) edible health food to the oat/nut/fruit combo we know today, granola has seen a lot in the 162 years since James C. Jackson formulated and began serving (and selling) "granula" from "Our Home Hygenic Institute" in Danville, New York. This program will include taste samples and information on how to make it at home to suit your original taste preferences. Registration requested.
