Come celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Wisconsin State Park System! Learn about the history of the parks, and get an introduction to the available recreation opportunities (such as hiking and camping) for visitors of all abilities and experience levels. Presented by Mia Noel from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Natural Resources Educator at Havenwoods State Forest. Get inspired to engage with the wonders of nature, while exploring the wide range of services offered throughout the state.

Did you know that we have a State Forest located right here in Milwaukee? Havenwoods State Forest is Wisconsin’s only urban state forest, featuring 237 acres of grasslands, woods and wetlands in the city of Milwaukee. Hike, run, bike and watch wildlife on over 6 miles of trails. Explore the nature center, the forest's ponds, stroll over the 120-foot bridge or find a bench to sit and relax outdoors.
