The Milwaukee Public Library is thrilled to host Betsy Korbinyr at Central Library, the award-winning author of Time, Beauty, and Grief: A Hike Through Wisconsin’s 50 State Parks. After retiring, Betsy successfully embarked on a remarkable quest to hike five miles in all 50 Wisconsin State Parks in one year. Celebrate Earth Month with this inspiring author visit.
Time, Beauty, and Grief is part trail guide, part memoir, and part conversation on the adventure of becoming a senior citizen. The first and only book to include every one of the fifty state parks in Wisconsin, it is filled with love for Wisconsin’s outdoors and culture. This life-affirming and inspirational story will encourage you to reject ageist stereotypes and live more fully and colorfully by developing a quest of your own.
Betsy Korbinyr, CAPSW, CT, WI-SSW, is a retired social worker with thirty-plus years of experience, with clients ranging from newborns to centenarians. She weaves her professional and personal knowledge of aging, loss, and resilience throughout her book, and invites you to learn more about yourself along with her. A native Wisconsinite, she has hiked in multiple states and several countries.
