An exhibition of upcycled art with an educational twist!

In partnership with the City of Milwaukee Department of Public Works, Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful, and Milwaukee Public Schools, the Milwaukee Public Library is proud to present the Recycling Contamination Art Gallery--a youth art exhibit that aims to increase awareness of the impacts of contamination in the recycling stream. For this exhibit, middle and high school classes at MPS created works of art using items mistakenly tossed into recycling. As you enjoy the students' work, learn why certain materials are considered contamination, their impacts on our city's recycling system, and how to properly dispose of them. This gallery provides a unique learning experience that will make us all expert recyclers.
